Creek Series Skytop Car for the Olympian Hiawatha

Started work on the Skytop car.




Took a lot of time to clean out all those windows.




When I started learning about Hiawatha equipment, I did not realize that there were two skytop car versions.
The one that ran around in the east side had lots of windows.
The version that ran west on the Olympian Hiawatha was a sleeper and had fewer windows on the left side.



Oh.  And in case anyone didn't know.....

It's a fun build - I always get double takes at shows or sessions with my CN version... have fun !

The prototype is very faceted in the rear, so be sure to take some time to file the Skytop end to match.  It goes pretty quick with the resin casting, and really adds to the look versus the bubble shape of the original casting.  And then, because Bill Denton did, separate panes of window material look really good when glued in near-flush with the outside, rather than glazing from behind!
