I think this is a very worthwhile project. The video samples which have already been produced (on Sara's own dime so far) and posted for all to see are wonderful. I could imagine this film playing at Sundance exposing the hobby to millions in a very positive manner.

It took me 5 minutes to sign up and pledge and the pledge is only called if the target is reached so no risk of wasting a pledge through under funding.

For anyone who has lamented the lack of young people and new comers entering the hobby here is the chance to do something about it...produced by someone outside the hobby for people outside the hobby. And not your normal 3 minute "News channel" piece playing at 11:00 PM!

I totally get this sentiment, but I think this project could do more for the hobby than any single crowd-sourced freight car could.  One thing that impressed me was Sara's bio.  She claims to be an outsider, but she completely gets how intoxicating (and even cool) the hobby can be.  It may just be a line to raise money, but the project is going forward in any case.  Invest, if you like what you see and you want it to be the best it can be.  Campaign ends Thu Sep 4.

Somebody, a single person, chipped in over $10,000 in the last few minutes.

Of course, to guarantee $30,000, I'd chip in $10,000 of my own money too.  Not going all 'conspiracy theory' here, it sounds like a legit project, it's just a common sense to do that if you've got the cash you can temporarily use.
