I think they look good!  Not a rustbucket, but real dirty from years of service.  The touch of brown on the airslide looks great!

Thanks to the start of College Football, I finally got into an "assembly line" mode building turnouts. These will be installed in the Christopher and Luchessa blocks on my friend's SP Coast layout.  I still have one more #12 to build, but it is getting too late. Still need to do a bit of clean-up, cut some gaps, and add thow-bars, too.

I really didn't realize how much I missed working on my trains (what a dumb thing eh?) Pulled out a pair of old NP hoppers, a two bay that I lettered years ago and a stock Atlas Airslide... tried to "dull" the two bay a bit. They'll do.... (joked with Ed K that maybe I have a "lighter touch" with only three functioning fingers on the right hand... maybe not ! LOL)

difficult to find any negatives on the weathering of these...beautiful!

Moviemaker, a very user- friendly windows program, allows this effect.

[Power Stroke]

I accquired a long sought after D&H C628 as well as a B&M RS3 to expand my fleet of motive power, and I finalized the reroute of my lower section, adding an Atlas code 55 dual track girder bridge, and swapping the code 80 bridges crossing the creek. All blocks are wired and have their own ground as well as all rails being soldered to allow for consistent power and ground.
Everything runs as it should with no stalls or derailing. The radiuses handle my largest cars ( 60K tankers, articulated auto carriers, and passenger ) with no issues, and without looking rediculous. Now starts the tunnel entrance, ballasting, and scenicing.









I also built a parking area for my small commuter station with a deviation from time and space.

A good soldering iron, flux, and some patience are the important tools.  MC got me over the hump a few years back.

A friend with deep pockets also helps (Tools, Jigs, and QuickSticks are expensive, but ending up saving a great deal of time).

Hard to believe but I finally did some work in the basement today.  I've taken some ideas from BendTracker1 and his Little Rock Line and built some benchwork for a branch line that will be the home of a paper mill.  It's 18 " wide and 8 ' long.  Thinking of something along the lines of what Bernard Kempinski did with his Danica Forest Products modules.



I am reworking my existing benchwork to fit the new plans.  As the weather turns and golfing season winds down, I'm hoping time that would be spent there will instead be spent in the basement.

Looks like a good start!  The paper mill should fit nicely on that section.
