I like the setup a lot but wouldn't mind seeing a close up of the GP60M's, as they appear to have some nice weathering (I'm assuming FVM). Do I see an anti-glare panel too?

Thanks! Here's a closeup from awhile back.

I finally did just a tiny something -- I put LED kits in my kato passenger cars. On one set I added the orange color filters, but it seems to really limit the distance the light spreads. Are these kids accepted as a good option, or should I be looking at doing something else?

I finished Lunde Studios latest kit the Ashbury Hotel. I haven't decided on signage yet.  A really nice kit which continues Bob Lunde's new tab in slot alignment system for all joints other than the front corner which he accurately pre-bevels for you.  Kit parts fit remarkably well for resin castings.

The rooftop features more detail than Lunde's previous kits including separately molded air conditioners.

I'm trying it out for awhile at this location on the layout.  Always subject to relocation.

Best regards,

Roger

Spoke to Bob himself today at the Greenberg show part of the Capital Limited N Scale Convention. Nice guy. Great kits. He was running a show special with 10% off all N scale kits and was selling out of stock on hand of a couple kits. Good for him. He described how labor intensive the resin kit process is. Impressive work.

Andrew:  Looks like you nailed it.

For others looking for the spot:
When I looked on Google Maps I didn't find the overpass, just a crossing.  Maybe that was old US 93, and it was removed when they rebuilt the road, which doesn't cross the railroad there now.  Or maybe Google placed their marker at the wrong spot, which I've also found before.  There are a lot of dead-end roads on the map, like the current highway was rerouted and the old roads left isolated.  The current road crosses the railroad south (timetable east) of the Google-marked location on an entirely different bridge.

There is an overpass on Bing:

Yes, but I believe that is a newer overpass.  Either that, or, as I said, Google marks Schley at the wrong place.

Oh yeah it looks newer. Still has the creek running beside the rail line.

I used to buy great fireworks in Schley when I was a kid! Bottle rockets, roman candles, M80s...  Good proper fireworks you could only get on the indian reservation and not in Missoula. Only, I never remember it being called Schley. We just called it Joe's Smoke Ring. It looks like it's a casino now. (Going by the Bing location)

And,  to at least keep this post rail related... I remember Montana Rail Link had a bad derailment just 2 miles SW of there in 1990 on Evaro Hill. They spilled a bunch of cars with lumber all over the place in that one.  Here's some more info Article

I finally got the courage to finish a project that I should have finished approximately two years ago.  At a Timonium show, the ExactRail rep gave me (free of charge) the replacement roofs for my five ER Southern Ry. waffle boxcars.  I replaced the roof on one car back then, because the old roof popped off easily.  The other four didn't.

Last night, I decided to go for it.  I found, with one exception, that they were glued over the doors, but any damage would be limited to the inside of the car and not visible once the new roof was reinstalled.  The one exception must have had some glue at the end, and I had to break the roof to get it out.  Unfortunately, I also broke a small piece off of the carbody near the peak at the end.  A little plastic cement, and that piece was fixed.  My worst fear realized, but the damage is almost invisible.  It's barely noticeable, even when pointed out, because the only visible blemish is the tiniest hairline fracture in the paint.

So, that's a project that, thankfully, is complete and came off with no permanent damage.  I present five waffle boxcars with the correct "bow tie" roofs!

nice kudzu... it just keeps growing.  :D

those waffle's look nice...  is the next step weathering them up or fading them out?  just curious.

For me...
my weekend was filled with works sessions (3) and train shows (1).

I picked up this gem from Chris @ the Chantilly show.

if you own an NS Heritage unit in 1:160... my suggestion is you do yourself a favor (and support a local a$$hat) and open your wallet for this 1:1 documentary. :)

nice work as usual by Chris.
