MicroTrains Should Do Modernized P70 Coaches

It would be one of the few, true commuter service cars in N-scale.

Definitely in the long haul and commuter window variants....

All you need is somebody to make a full rounded roofs that will fit the old RR/Atlas and MTL coaches, then change out the 6-wheel trucks for modern 4- wheel.

Which one are you wanting???  There were quite a few different types...

The P70e?  The P70eR (several variations)?  The P70R?  The P70fR (again, several variations)?  What about the P70faR, or the P70gs (several more styles), or the P70gsR?  You have the P70hR, the P70k, or the P70kR?

One of these beauties use to be made by a company that was doing laser cut sides but what has been made has been hard to come by.  Laser Horizons offers a few sides as well...

I'd be in for a dozen or so, especially if there was also a PLC70 or PC70 variant. It looks like a reasonable approximation could be done with a simple interior change and maybe a blanked out window or two.

Had one of those P70Kr sides.  All together, painted and waiting for decals.  Work up the next mornng and found it in dozens of pieces.  Seems my new pup at the time though it was a chew toy.  Never have been abel to find another one. 

The P70Kr and P70Gsr are the ones I like best.  Both long distance coaches used on lots of trains including those running north to Boston and south to varous loctions on SCL, Souther, etc.

I'd like to find a arched roof for my Bachman 65' cars,but I don't see that happening.Could use some for my Model Power heavy weights to but I don't expect to find those either.

There was an article years ago in one of the model mags on how to do these roofs using balsa and just shaping them.  Don't remember which one it was but didn't look that hard.

My point is there's interest in this car - enough to sell plenty on their own merits - as well as add ons for the Groom Lake UFO train.

Hate to be a balloon-popper, but it's unlikely that MTL will offer another passenger car based on a PRR prototype.  They've shown that they are spreading the prototype choices around.  The RPO, coach, diner and baggage all are based on the prototypes of different railroads, while the sleepers, parlor and obs are based on Pullman plans.

All variations would be nice. You can never have enough Pennsy (just too many Pennsy modelers).
