A couple hours ago I place a preorder for one of the blue ex-RI hoppers. I couldn't find any photos of the road numbers but looking at RailcarPhotos.com, I can see that it looks like the right number series and heritage. If someone has a link to a photo they looks like these, I'd enjoy seeing it.

There are a couple of pics on rrpicturarchives from 1981, and one from 2002.  So pretty wide spectrum of "plausible".

And all three of the ACFX cars are on rrpict...ives.

Haven't looked at the rest.  Could see at least buying one Rock and the three ACFX's.  I'm on a spending freeze right now so I'm gonna have to roll the dice with these and hope I can maybe pick them up when they hit.   A light fade on the BNSF car would be nice.   I like the Texas & Pacific one as well.  I don't have a bunch of cement cars so they're something I could use.

These are great little cars, esp. now that they come with the metal wheels.   And they are easy to convert to the Lee English Z-scale couplers.

The ex-Rock blue looks rather bold in the illustration, but it's hard to tell what the actual models will look like.  The proto fades almost to a near-white, so some airbrushing likely will improve that.

Yeah, I'm in for at least half this announcement. These are some of the best cars in n scale. I wish they would go ahead and do some more modern schemes in their air slides.

I've been picking up a couple of cars from each of these Athearn runs. I'm replacing my older Atlas cars. I love how these have body mounted couplers and the detailing is better than the IM cars. I'm pretty focused, so I've been picking up the BN, BNSF and some of the leasers. They are worth every penny.
