Not everyone wants roller bearings. The model is correct for my prototype as is.



Time has not really been my friend the last couple of days.

I took some quick and dirty pics. I will try to upload the rest later.

Not bad... Not bad at all...

Improvements at first look.
dis-assemble trucks - Paint bronze contract strip black.
Paint sides of wipers black.
Paint handrail stanchions black on the ends.
Paint handrail ends for long hood handrails dark yellow.
Paint pilot ends black and apply revised striping decals (if desired.)
Paint air hoses on pilot. (before or after no decals).
Replace coupler (if desired).

More intensive improvements.
Replace bell (Looks chuncky in the side view)
Replace contact strips with wires....
Replace truck side frames.
Metal Grab irons

You don't have to want roller bearing but your prototype did have them.  I'm wondering if you're confusing them with flexicoil.

No, sir, it didn't. It came from the factory with those trucks, new, in May 1970.

Amazing concept, get a loco to market while continuing to evolve and improve it.  For those who aren't as wrapped up in rivets they can buy current releases and subsidize more accurate options later.  I like it!

It's a good thing as long as the road you want isn't in the first release.

Luckily, mine isn't. But it's coming up soon.
