Whoever gets em first let me know if they come with the wrong trucks like the photos. If I have to replace the trucks that will effect how many I buy.

I could be wrong, but those look HO scale to me. The listing indicates Microtrains trucks and couplers.   Does that make sense with theses photos?

I believe they have the proper friction bearing trucks. The PNS special run ATSF cars do. Mine are due to arrive on Monday, so I will confirm then.

I'm pretty sure those are pics of the pre-production cars that are posted on the IMRC web-site that the dealer is using. So the trucks won't necessarily be what is on the flatcars that are arriving.

Also pretty sure they are photos of N scale cars - check the size of the coupler.

If they were HO the listing would say Kadee couplers since that is what IMRC uses on HO.

These look like beautiful models. Talk about low riders...  The fact that their photos can reasonably be mistaken for HO scale models speaks volumes.
I understand the truck bearing issue is getting fixed, although later era modelers can probably use the roller bearing trucks. I have three ATSF Ft-V's on order from George at PNS, with friction bearing trucks. Apparently the swap is not as simple as would seem as the friction bearing trucks have a larger bolster pin hole.

My question is this: Do we know which of the other road names are protobased and which are foobies, if any?

I picked up a couple of the B&O bulkheads, a B&O flat and a PC flat and all have roller bearing trucks. Have to do some homework to see which had friction trucks based on the build/rebuild dates. Meh.

If the PC shouldn't have a wheel dot, then it should have an ACI label.  It was reweighed in 73, at which time the labels were required, and the labels weren't discontinued until after the dots were applied.

We would have to check the service date or the COTS dates before determining whether or not the wheel inspection dot is era-appropriate.  This easily could be a Conrail-owned flat that hadn't been repainted.

UPDATE:  I just checked the InterMountain page, and the service date is 5/73.  If the wheel inspection dot is an anomaly, or if an earlier representation is desired, it's easily removed and replaced with with an ACI plate.  So the car still works for all PC and CR periods.

No issue on the dot, just once again, to ME at least - it's easier to add this stuff than remove it.

I'm on the fence about having COTS labels too - but I will pick these up - very easy to change one way or the other.
