Life Like IC E6 color match vs. Kato IC passenger car set?

I don't have the Kato IC cars, but I do have the new Kato IC E8 and the LifeLike IC E6.   The LifeLike has a ligher orange - a little too pale for my taste.  The Kato orange looks better to me.

That said, I'd go right ahead equipment with both shades of orange together.

I think they look pretty good. The biggest difference is the much glossier finish on the Kato cars - especially the roofs. THAT is what stands out side by side - more than any color differences.

           Con Cor's later (current?) Illinois Central Smooth Side cars , not the older Limited Addition Panama set, is color matched to the Life Like Locomotives both E-7 and E-6. Con Cor did a number of sets to match Life Like's E-8 and E-7. I have not yet received my KATO IC train or locos so I cannot compare the colors. Nate Goodman (Nato).

I haven't had a chance to work with the side by side photos I got last night under fluorescent light.

As I mentioned earleir, the biggest thing is the fact that the Centralia cars are a satin finish and the Kato cars are much glossier so the colors appear deeper. The orange is different but not wildly so (Kato's is brighter." I have no reservations running them mixed. Color is subjective and someone else might say "Ugh!"

Real cars weather differently from each other so I don't think these are in the "OMG that's horrid" area at all. That said, I think the Kato cars could benefit from some dulling/weatherig of the roof at least which will make both work better together.

I was so happy with the E8a and 6 car set I ordered the B unit and 4 car set!
