Built a 4 foot N-Trak module and an 8 foot piece of bench work  for use in the basement.

Well, she's finally done

I will be using a pair of Corman SD40-2's to help load the coal hoppers at the Clymer coalveyor site on my layout. I haven't decided what is next, whether it be another Corman or another NS Dash 9. For now I'm going to focus on getting some work done on the Clymer side of the layout and go from there.

Reminds me of my recent trip to Cresson.

Very nice Bill.  What program/settings are you using to size your pictures? The compression is really taking away from the image.

Jason

I've been using Paint Shop Pro and 40% compression for all my photos.

Wow!  Great combo.  Can you share what speaker you used and how much frame milling was required?

I had to mill the rear metal weight (these are the older plastic frame versions) so the decdoer would fit under the shell and i had to remove some material from the front weight for the the wires running to the ditch lights.

The speaker is a Loksound 16mm x 25mm 4ohm speaker in a custom styrene baffle. I put it in the B unit, it's a dummy unit, and the speaker barely fits, but it sounds good!

So my modeling efforts will be quite limited until August 17th because I have a new job. I am the maintenance assistant at Camp Dark Waters in Medford, NJ.

The head of the camp told me that I will more than likely be getting a cabin to myself, so if that is indeed true, then I will be prepping a portable workshop kit and my Nn3 layout to come and spend the summer with me.
I get use of the camp vehicles so I can easily make a run to the hardware store for stuff. Any LHS runs will have to be reserved for the occasional day off.

I think I fixed my static grass applicator.  It was shorting randomly and making little snaps and sparks.  I took it apart and wrapped one of the wires in electrical tape.  I thought that fixed it but then it was just shooting sparks non-stop.  Finally I opened it back up and flipped the tea-strainer upsidedown so the wires don't ever come near each other.  Now it works, but it's upside-down!  Oh well!

Hello all....
I just received Bill Denton's (Skytop Models) BEAUTIFUL castings of ATSF's 64' smoothside semi-lightweight baggage cars!
If I thought his previous castings were great, these are even superior to those!
I will be documenting the builds very soon in a running post with pics...
2 in gray with black roofs and aluminum undersides, and 1 in overall aluminum.

Started working again on the Bachmann USRA hoppers.  Fitted some of them with Atlas Andrews trucks from the USRA wood boxcars before realizing that the Andrews trucks from the Northeastern cabooses probably are a drop-fit.  Still looks good so far though.  Also swapped in Accu-Mate couplers.
