Got a little more work done this morning.  The throat is fully installed.

Everything beyond the rerailers is temporarily installed, so again, no CSX track laying jokes.

also check the alignment of the left track going into the yard .. there appears to be a good kink by the switch

If you've ever thought of doing G scale and have the resources (and spousal support) to do so, give it a shot!  So far my whole enterprise has been a hair under a grand, and that includes the garden materials too.  I'm very thankful to Russ for the track donation, though, because without it I'd be on the other side of four figures.  Still, track deals can be had on eBay.

No modelling time of late due to the usual hectic end of school year schedule, but I have managed to get decals on the second of two boxcars for my Provincial Museum Train:

Already ripped up and relaid. See the build thread.

And Dr. Vollmer, you have officially exceeded your weekly allowance of awesome.

Gonna do Kadees at some point.

Yeah, they make a hell of a difference.  I used #1 scale Kadee couplers on mine:

Since the weekend update turned into G scale central....I'll play  8)

Shot these two out on the layout the other week.  Did some ballast work this weekend again though ( its a yearly thing to freshen it up)

I got a Walthers Union Station finished up as a custom build. It was the clients idea to highlight random blocks with a slightly different color, and I think it worked really well to subtly add interest to the walls.

Thanks! It was an enjoyable build, the Walthers kit is really well engineered.
