MT Weathered Offering - Interesting

Four car set of PW hoppers - the best looking, heavy weathering job to date:

These cars seem to be used to carry imported coal from Africa to the Mt. Tom Power Plant for blending with coal from US sources brought in by NS/Pan-Am.

update - I think these are the ex-ROCK, ex-BLE cars...

I'm pondering the idea of getting a set and re-lettering to BLE, which would make more sense in PA/WV area...

Yes really nice looking. On the last car they even have the streaks from the reporting marks.

MT needs to do more of these and less 1950's boxcar with 2010 graffiti  :)

Btw, I saw the 4 car 3 bay cement hopper weathered release, and it looks even better in person then the photos.

Yes, this!  And, less BNSF boxcars with 30 years of weathering on them.   :trollface:   Seriously, I am a huge fan of the series and look forward to more releases.

Those hoppers look cool!  Out of my era but that's ok, I still appreciate good models like that.

Indeed, I have purchased all of the 3 or 4 car sets offered. I am assuming the same style graffiti/weathering is on the other side of the cars. Some of the earlier offerings had graffiti/weathering on one side and just lighter weathering on the other side.

Those are stunning.  Both sides are weathered and graffiti'd right?  I once bought a MT graffiti car and one side was very nicely weathered while the other was pristine.  Felt a bit short-changed.

It would make sense that both sides would be weathered. Why would MT only make one side look old?  :|  I have never seen a one-sided weathered car released by MT. Graffiti?  It might be only on one side, but again, judging by many of the recent MT weathered releases, it could be on both sides.

The way they seem to use a flat-bed ink jet printer to decorate batches of cars (with graffiti, and some recent cars even had printed weathering), makes it easy for MT do fully decorate both sides. I suspect that these are fully "decorated".
