I have a 18 in x 60 in section at the end of a L shelf ho scale layout I could use the area for industry or a stub track yard   whats ur opion

Not really enough information to generate many opinions. Just too open ended. If you tell us more about the rest of the railroad and your general thoughts on era, prototype, operation style, etc... you will get more responses.

Well, without knowing anything about your layout, I can at least add that an 18" x 60" area is probably not a big enough space in HO for a yard.  I'd use it for an industry and avoid the spaghetti bowl look.

Disagree and I will be operating on a layout next week that has one which has close to those dimensions. I will take pictures (and measure) to give an idea. I will agree that an industrial area would probably be a better way to go. Here are a couple of pictures of 2 areas on a different layout that are probably a little longer then 60" but can give you an idea of how one could do an area like that:
