For the SPFs, an ad from
Life
magazine in 1941. The main illustration really caught my eye, the S1 in a scene with Hulett unloaders in the background. Pure fantasy, but interesting nonetheless.

It just dawned on me [d'oh!] that the headline if not the entire ad is a poke at air travel. Fascinating that even in 1941 the crude state of commercial airlines was enough to concern the RR's marketing department.
