Very useful video Mike.
I was also going to mention something else, but I'll just leave it alone.

To bring this topic closer to home, has anyone found a useful fix to the P42 trucks inability to roll (sway side to side)?

They can swivel and pitch ok, but the design kills the ability to roll, which is quite necessary to keep power on when entering exiting super elevated curves.  My pair often stall right at these points because one side of the front or rear truck will lift completely off the rail, leaving two axles and one pick-up point for power, which is not so trustworthy.  This would be even more necessary to keep a sound decoder from cutting out.
