REA 1948

Came across this photo of a short lived color scheme for Railway Express...


Colors are silver with green stripes. Lettering is yellow. Wide stripe is outlined in red.

The cars were painted this way as delivered in 1948. Not sure how long it lasted. Something a little different for REA models.

  Frank,
   the scheme lasted a few years at least.
  Branchline had their REA Express Reefer kits in this scheme.
   edit [not sure if BLI did ?] the BLI was a Wood car similar to the Walthers wood
  express reefers built by GATC in the 20s,big OPPS,sorry.
  or if/when Atlas will rerun these as RTRs ?
  the cars look much better in Color,as do the Striped ACL cars.
