photos 9, 10, and 11 from the top seem to show the stream of a jet plane in the sky
would seem to be 1:1 rather than 160:1???

Gary

To me it looks like the sky and background trees are real and the foreground trees and grass are models . Note the background trees are bare and don't look as real as the models .

Photographing dioramas in a natural setting (natural sunlight and real background), when chosen carefully, yields the most realistic results.  Something that cannot be matched with floodlights and printed backdrop.

This is a "how to" in English of the same style tree.  http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23011

Wow those are awesome trees. My modular layout won't have many trees on it so I suppose I could try this technique, I wouldn't if I had a forest to do!

Incredible trees and great photography! Just hope I can get to half that level.

Good trees, but no mention of how many seconds it takes to make one  :?

It said at one point it takes about 90 minutes per tree.  Google Chrome is your friend, it translates automatically.
