I find it odd that they describe it as textures instead of decals . Are these like the rivets ....3D , thinking vents and sewer grates .

Get some super-cheap Chinese solar calculators, pop the cells out, and they'd probably be the right size for solar farms or industrial panels. And they'd work (FWIW)...

I think that they are using the term texture to mean a covering for a 3-D object as used in computer graphics.

Great idea! Might take a microscope to figure out the pin-outs, and a bit of deductive thinking. And a micro-tome to slice it up. Maybe discarded bigger ones would be easier to wire up?

They could also have a real texture. Microscale uses silk-screening process for making decals and I suppose they could use thicker paint to give the decals some texture.

I have to say these don't seem to be well done.  There don't appear to be panel frames represented, so you would have to add your own striping to get a realistic look.   The large sections in particular would be hard to work with.    They really should have put frames in the large sections so that one could build cut appropriate looking arrays out of them.

Also, they should be labeled 72 cell solar panels, not 72 watt.

I don't think these cheap devices are much effective.. I have got one cheap solar calculator and it did not lasted one month.
