Would it be possible to lop the firebox off the shell from the J and stick it on the mechanism for the Mountain?  Or would too much have to be milled out of the J shell to make it worthwhile?
Thanks much,

which j and mountain?

the more recent ones are metal (I guess zamac)
the chassis look very similar.
so once you get the top reassembled... it should fit either chassis.

what are you building?

The newer ones of each.

Kicking around doing a streamlined K2a after seeing a photo of an ACL Petersburg-Richmond run that was a K2a, ACL baggage car, and N&W coach; apparantelly, N&W supplied power, ACL supplied the crew, and both RRs supplied the rolling stock.

Anyone know if the Spectrum J wheels will fit in the slots of the Spectrum heavy mountain?
