I just seen on Athearns facebook that they are requesting N scale suggestions, just figured I would pass it on. It's I quite suprising now if only they will make the requests happen :D

I don't know who mans their FB page, but he/she replied to me that a couple of the schemes I had referenced for bethgons in an earlier suggestion thread were among the next run, and that they had just "approved tooling to be cut for three new n-scale freight cars".

I personally don't take much stock in what they say anymore, but I guess we'll see.

To bad it is on Facebook.  Don't have an account and will not sign up.

So would someone be kind enough to add that it would be great for Athearn to produce their Sulfuric Acid tank car in N-Scale. They already have all the research done ont eh car. Just need to cut the molds in N.

I'm pretty sure there were a number of requests for that.  I'll check.   I asked specifically for molten sulfur cars, but I also said pretty much any modern-ish tank car not done by them or Atlas would be fair game...so that would include the sulfuric acid cars.

For the Facebook-averse, such as myself, there is also their web contact form.  Tick "Ideas for products" and type away.  One would like to think that such input is considered as much as Facebook input.  I'm going to ask that any or all of their HO 53' intermodal models be done in N: well cars, containers & trailers.  That would be the missing link for me.

I'd love an acid tanker too.

Found out my wife has a facebook page she never uses so I logged in on her account. I also went to the Athearn page and sent a message from there.

I need gobs of the Grupo Mexicano and ASARCO sulfuric acid tanks. Really hope they do this car one day.

ummmmm.

Some modern heavyweight passenger cars with FULL round roofs (Harriman roof, I guess it's called).

This is a big gap in N scale.  I need heavyweights that were STILL riding the rails from 1970 and even into the present.

+1, those would be very nice, and Athearn has done well with tanker models to date.

Another ES44 and SD70Ace.   And maybe another SD40-2.  (And don't forget the McHenry couplers.   I can always use 'em for O scale...)  :ashat: :ashat: :ashat:

Actually I'd love to the the BNSF reefer: http://www.railcarphotos.com/pix/1/BNSF%20%20793476_Alorton%20IL_Keith%20Belk_2005-12-27_1180.jpg

UP got a dozen or so C&O H-7's 2-8-8-2 in '46 or so Athearn could get both road names on this model , as well as both sides of the country .

Not being on FB, I reiterated an earlier plea for one of their HO products to be released in N scale. Bet no one could guess what that would be...

I posted this on Athearn's Contact Us page, since I am not using FB.

An N-scale non-USRA type 4-8-2 Mountain or 4-8-4 Northern steam loco featuring:
- 72-75 inch drivers (spoked and boxpok styles)
- 19-20' driving wheelbase
- a chassis designed so that aftermarket or customized boilers could be easily fitted on the frame(or at least detachable domes and removable boiler and cylinder).
-DC and DCC versions
- 4 and 6 axle tenders

36 US and Canadian RRs owned and operated a total of 1,126 "Northern" type locomotives. Many were designed within this size range (e.g., ATSF, CNR, GTW, NYC, SP, others) although some RRs increased the driver size to 80 inches when rebuilt.

Ooow what we could do with that!

I would suggest that Athearn gets into N scale.
