BLI 2014

I was posting this video for my client (The Model RR Shop in NJ) and noticed that speaker says some of it is N-scale....

/>
There is a PRR  4-8-2 in there, so could this be what the PRR guys are waiting for?

Hopefully that 2-10-4 will be their first N scale steam.  :)

My guess is the E units and the PAs.

I know, they've already done them.
I’m not here to argue

I doubt it, BLI has the M1 listed in there website's N Scale section for a long time. A few years ago I e-mailed BLI every other month to see if there were any updates. The firsdt few were encouraging, hinting that the M1 would come out before the years end. Then I got an e-mail that said it was in the design phase and the service rep. then explained this process, highly indicating that the M1 is not coming out for awhile. Anyways, the speaker could be talking about the HO Scale M1. For a fiery discussion's sake (), I'll place the wager that Kato will make a K4 before BLI will finally produce the M1.

I think one of our SPFs will win the lottery before BLI finally produces the M1a.

And by Article 5, Section C of the SPF Altoona Manifesto of 1998: "if any member of th SPF community should gain any large allowance of money, there are hereby obligated finance the production of a PRR locomotive for the benifet of the SPF community and all closet SPFs, ie everyone else"

Looking at the photos in the video. The PRR 4-8-2 CLEARLY has MTL style couplers as well as the PA and E8.

Oh and the N&W hoppers look a little odd with the wide wheel faces and rather clunky brake wheel for HO.... maybe this is actually N as well?

I don't know. The trip pin looks to thin and to high to be N.
It's quite hard to tell, and hope may be blinding us as to the obvious.
But gosh darn it, it'd be a miracle to finally see the M1a come to market.

You know, I rarely weigh in any more on bash the manufacturer threads, and even more rarely on threads that pertain to SPFs and their PRR shenanigans.

But seriously, Marketing 102 teaches you to clearly target your messages, and IF there's N scal ein there, its so obscured as to render the video useless for consumers to make an informed decision.  If BLI is trying to PROVE that N scalers WON"t buy their stuff, then cryptic references like this will go along way toward making that point, since no one will know what they are trying to sell to whom in time to reserve much of anything.

If they finally release the N scale M1a/b, all will be forgiven.

Care full.. Look back in the Walthers Catalogs in the 1990s when they were doing the Cryo Reefers and GSC flats... They had photos of HO models with N scale couplers in their catalog.. (How could you tell? .. Body mounted)..

I wouldn't put it past BLI to photoshop a Micro-Trains coupler on an HO M1 for a photo shoot.

BTW.. the guy in the video was the same guy who (at Trainfest) told me (in a snotty tone) the M1B was currently being tooled, then proceeded to ignore me..

I'm not sure the M1 wound will ever heal, and I don't even have any skin in the game.. Best case it will be a pie in their face for all eternity.

Video:
Judging by the wheels (and the small flanges), it looks to be H0.
But the rather crude bell I would expect in N scale.
The valve gear looks to be H0.  Not very fine, but it doesn't look like N scale valve gear either.

I would say that the loco in the video, and in the advertisement photo are the same.

If there's no clear scale listed, I always assume HO. (and promptly move on)
