The demand is extensively greater than I thought it would be.  The cutoff for Railwire allocations is going to be at 100 pieces, which will allow for a 120 piece run.  While that may not fufill the total demand, there won't be enough to justify a new set of molds (assuming the masters survive that long), and additional shrink factor was not calculated into the rendering of the RP master to allow for second generation castings.

The current number reserved is 87, so only 13 pieces remain available before Railwire reservations are closed.

As with all ESM Made In America kits, this is a one-and-done production.  It will not be re-run.

This is probably an ridiculously stupid question, but what is the inside of the packaging going to include?  I assume that once I build the kits, I won't have a plastic nest in which to rest the finished model for storage.

Foam nest.  Similar arrangement as the Keyser Valley caboose.  Visit the online instructions for the caboose to see the arrangement.

No, these are not too close to any PRR gondolas. The one Bryan is producing is very rare with 8 ribs, which most railroads having and odd number like 7 or 9.
