CSX Columbus & Geometry car

While driving yesterday I was stopped at a crossing west of Monticello, IN on a lightly used track.  The train whistle was consistent with a high speed train which is odd because this old Monon track is usually slow grain trains.  Much to my surprise I saw  a four axle geep pulling a passenger car called the Columbus and a track geometry car moving at a quick clip.  There was a guy watching the tracks go by in the rear window.  Not at all what I was expecting.  Wish I had a camera on the ready!  Anyone have any history in these two cars?

Both cars are converted C&O coaches.  The Columbus was named Ohio until recently.
