VO1000s got that paint too
But I think that may have been it.
Also this was an early scheme the LV FT`s got the cornell Red with black stripe`s seen on the other first gen Diesels

Only GE 44 ton switcher paint I saw has the red with black stripes

Thanks never knew of that paint scheme. Now if only I can find a color copy!

Found S2, NW2 in the previously mentioned paint

I believe this scheme was used on a number of diesels that were built-in the late 30's to mid 40's which included SW1's, NW1's, GE 44 tonners, Alco S2's and possibly HH660's.

Before that early diesels were black with aluminum lettering, i.e boxcabs, Macks, early EMC's and Alcos. Then this scheme then Cornell Red with 3 black stripes.

I definitely have seen photos of the 44 tonner in this scheme. It was in one volume of a series of books published by the Sayre PA historical society. I don't have it with me but I'll see if I can find other examples when I get home.
