It did make the news nationally, but with no fatalities it was basically "local" in nature. I first heard about it that night on WBBM-AM from Chicago, and it has since appeared in news links in several Northwest TV and newspaper sites.
The latest report was today, in USA-Today, where they reported that the suspect claimed he "saw a man turn into a demon" before he started stabbing people. No word on whether he stabbed the "demon" or not. The guy was either on something or simply nuts.
