Nice looking cars but not sure how frequently they show in the interior Pacific Northwest.

There was a front page article in the Sunday Times last week about the surge in oil traffic and accidents.  It included a route map (supplied by UP) that showed major traffic lanes.  According to that source, the PNW is not currently a major destination, but there is likely enough traffic to justify an oil or ethanol train on your pike, if you want it.

That picture is going to be the "how could we not see the risk?" example used after a serious incident in some city.  It is only a matter of time, unfortunately.

Those oil trains go through my community at 60-80 kmh.

I will definitely get a few of these cars. I have a steam power plant (Kyrene road in Tempe, AZ) that burns oil to make steam. These look like the type of cars as well as the Atlas 25K car.

I wish I could bend Athearns ear to have them produce their HO Sulfuric Acid tank in N-Scale. I needs lots of those.

What sort of tank car would transport tar? Any currently available?

Tar and asphalt would be in similar cars, something like the Atlas 25k is a start.  Someone with your penchant for detailing could make a great version.

A majority here would agree, I'm sure.
