I'm watching this thread with even more than usual interest!
My castings arrived today!....and they are beautiful...looking forward to seeing it at the head of an F7 ABBA powered freight...running up out of Belen, up to Mountainair, in the summer of '57.
Thanks, Jason

My work is going a little slower due to getting out castings and working on other new boilers.  But now with the additional inspiration provided from youtube, I've made a little more progress.

Yeah, Jason is working a little slower, which is about 19 times as fast as the next fastest guy, so please be patient with him :D
Otto K., about 19 times slower than the next fastest guy :|

SLOW!!!   Who you callin SLOW!!!  :D

I have been a little slower than my normal pace. As an excuse I would say : "I've been getting out casting and working on several other new boilers".

Here is the 2900 class just before paint.

Number boards still need to be installed, engine clear coated and flat finished.  The plan is for this engine to be a freight engine/ hauling refer blocks, so its gonna need some weathering!

Love it, Jason.  Awesome work! (again)
I wish I had one (maybe two) for my layout.

Jason, nice work.   Don't be disappointed, but I am actually more fascinated by the tender than the engine!
The rivet work is crisp and has really good relief.  Is that from your mold, or did you apply those separately
on this one?

I can vouch for the detail being already cast...
I've been watching Jason's builds for a long time on the forums...modelling 1957 limits my 'steam' roster, i.e. I have none!...but, after realizing that Santa Fe steam made it's last stand in 1957, I couldn't resist acquiring this casting from Jason...
I need to add- all of the pictures Jason has posted of the castings just don't do them justice (perhaps it's the color of the resin and the inherent glossiness)...these castings are BEAUTIFUL!...crisp detail and clean...sure, there's a little flash that needs to be removed, but the one I received is, simply, beautiful!
I still need to acquire the Kato GS-4 mechanism, the Bachmann tender trucks, and the various detail parts...but I'm really looking forward to tmy build-like this one, mine will be heavily weathered.
Now, if Jason can just figure a mechanism and a casting for a 5011 class 2-10-4!

Very nice Jason, even if it is Santa Fe. Nice work.
