When I reserved my sample, George was very helpful and my (first) impression was very positive. He send me some pictures of what may be the traditional version and what may be the modern version. He also mentioned to me a price of about $700. It's certainly not cheap, but I still remember the Key PRR J1. I believe that one was (when it came out) about $800. Luckily it still is a great engine, which these days is very hard to get. As a penny fan a L1 is a must (well at least for me) :)

$600-700 for a new steam engine model with all the features mentioned earlier seems like a real bargain!  They must have found some slave laborers to assemble these things for them for free!  :D

P.S. I am totally buying one of these if the speculated $600-$700 price turns out to be true. Probably flip 'em for twice that in a year or two  :D

GHB has just announced a made in Korea brass model of the L1s. Both original and modernized versions are planned. The models will be factory painted and lettered with four engine numbers of each version. They will be DCC ready with provi-sions for sound. See your dealer to make a reservation. Avail-ability is planned for mid-2014.
