Well I start my 11 state road trip 1 week from today for the Big E. Maybe the mods can pin this thread so we have a place to communicate and report on all the new goodies.

I'll be in the BLC on the north wall across the isle from Exactrail  and a couple of isles from the CRS guys (wearing "Where's Ed" shirts) as usual. Jamie will be coming with me so she is not staying home alone. This will be the first train show for her since the 2002 Ft. Lauderdale NTS. Hope to see my fellow A$$Hats.

I am looking forward to meeting as many of the A@@hats as possible at the show this year. Our booth is in Mallory, 144 A,B,C,D and Bill, Dan and I will be more than happy to welcome the Railwire local gentry to our little corner of the show... I'm making a note to pop over an meet Bob and Bryan and, of course, see some trains.... Only eight days till we board the Amtrak Lake Shore Express for the trip to Springfield....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Yes; but in as much as the train is Thursday, set up is Friday and there is a fully stocked bar on board for my travelling companions and I,  "late" isn't a huge issue..... (giggle)

Just south of DC for the night. Roads are good, but it is COLD. Eleven states and 1450 miles to get there. The diehards are attending!

Heading northeast shortly.  Should get to the Big E in the early afternoon to set up, then a dinner engagement and resting up for the big day tomorrow.

We're here !!!!! The Late for sure Limited lived up to its name leaving Buffalo 5 hours late and turning a 1745 hrs planned arrival into a 2350 hrs arrival.... Of course the dining car ran out of food. Thecomplimentary beef stew they dumped on me (yes, dumped on me) wan't fit for man nor beast and don't get me started about the drunk who slept on the car floor near the handicapped space...  But we're here so let the fun begin !!!!!

Ah, welcome to the modern US passenger rail transportation system.  Doesn't quite run like a fine Swiss watch railroad.

North American passenger rail could learn a lot from SBB.  We could only wish for such a system here...  Have fun at the show!
