Issue with newest run of LL/Walthers RS-2

Mornin'

I recently purchased 2 LL/walthers RS-2's in GB&W. These are the plug and play versions. Along with the new lokies,, I picked up 2 DN163K2's, these are the newest versions. Let me tell you,, these lights are BRIGHT!!

Anyways, I installed both decoders, one unit runs great,, the other unit DOES NOT RUN!!

I triple checked everything.
1. Kapton tape on any possible areas that motor can contact,,,check
2.Checked drive train to make sure it is not bound up,,,check
3.Made sure motor contacts are in contact with decoder,,,check

I even changed out the bearing blocks, also applied proper lubricants to lokie

You have to "kick" start the motor turning by using your fingers or something else to spin it. Once you do that,,the lokie runs. While in motion,, you change direction and the unit keeps moving. Once you stop, change direction and try to move,, IT NO WORKIE!!!!!!

THIS IS DRIVING ME NUCKING FUTS!!!

I went over everything again,, drive train is not bound up. Motor is making proper contact with decoder, kapton tape in all the right places. I even tried bumping up the start voltage in CV2, thinking that maybe I could jolt the motor to work,THAT NO WORKIE EITHER!!!

I am so to the point of getting my framing hammer out and smashing the P.O.S.!!!!!!!!!

I changed the brushes out, I changed the bearing blocks out, Heck I even changed the whole motor out with a kato motor,, WHAT THE HAY!!!!

Anybody have any input, ideas, or the offer of a stiff drink????

I am ready to just by another mech/lokie and call it good.

Thanx in advance,,, WYATT

Have you tried swapping the chips in the locos?
This would confirm it to be the chip or the loco.

Well, I changed the motor again, and that was the ticket! Seemed the motor housing was a little askew,, causing the motor to slighty  bind.  Three motors later, now the lokie works, Geez what a head ache.
