Any ideas for FL9 or C liner running gear?

OK, thanks to a quick test by a friend with an Atlas SD7 and an Alco RS unit (same truck as the GP30/35), not only does the truck fit the SD7 chassis, but it runs without modification. YES!!! 

Japanese or Chinese Atlas locos?

I could be wrong, but are the C-liner B trucks the same size as ALCO B trucks?

I was thinking they were a little smaller.

Thanks to Allen (bendtracker) for hooking me up with a test and some photos.  Since I don't have this in front of me, I can't measure it, but I think it works out just a hair longer than proto.  Still, with a little modification of the fuel tank, I think this would work great.

As for the difference between the C-liner trucks and the Alco trucks, not sure about the model, but the proto truck wheelbase for both of them is 9'4".

  I am enjoying this thread as I mentioned in an earlier post and not trying to nitpick, but the front bogie of the FL9 in the first two production units was initially a Blomberg ,EMD style bogie from a F7 or F9  and from my drawings has  9'0" axle centres
  The Alco bogie is 9'4" axle centres so will  a F7 or Gp 30/35 bogie fit in there also? If it does than many problems can be solved.
   The balance of the production run used a modified 'flexicoil' bogie based on the  SD7/9 bogie.  At the moment I do not have any models to check these measurements.

No worries.    The Alco truck is just a test.  The mounting for that is the same as the mounting for a GP30/35, only the sideframes are different, so that should provide a proper front truck.

   I have been going through some prototype drawings of locos and another chassis to check would be the IM FP7 chassis…it should have the correct wheelbase centres  ( 34'0" )  and if so it has the F7 front bogie so would  only require the SD7/9 bogie fit into  this chassis.
   Reports have these as good running locos and would save a lot for work if the SD bogie fits.

Got my $51 SD9 with DCC from the bay yesterday, and the China built GP35 and SD9 trucks work great.  The older trucks from a GP35 fit, but they bind and derail.  I have the lesser quality FL9 shell from shapeways, I will try and get some pictures up tomorrow.  and in the next week or so get an order in for the FUD FL9 shell I missed the option for FUd when I ordered the first shell.

the frame and wheel spacing under the shell should be fine.

Here are the Pictures of the SD9 frame with GP35 front truck.  the Shell is not very usable, but a good stand in now until I can order the FUD one and see how that is.  The shell will need a little blocking to make it ride correctly on the frame, but other than that it loos good.
