Franklin & South Manchester photo ban lifted for one day...

The 2013 Fine Scale Model EXPO and layout tours occurred last weekend and as some may know, George Sellios' layout was on the tour.
He apparently, in the recent past has banned photography on his layout due to damage from careless photographers but he lifted the ban for the tour.

Love him or hate him, he is a fine modeler and has been an asset to the hobby of Model Railroading.

Linked are some photos taken by Vikas Chandler of India on his blog.

I've been there couple of times (I live only few miles away) and I never knew that the ban was due to damage concerns. There are Plexiglas barriers around the layout. I thought it was a copyright thing.

George is also shutting down Fine Scale Miniatures operation.  That fact was mentioned in the latest issue of MR.

Id love to view that layout in person, even though I view it more as a caricature.

See if you can arrange a visit while you're down here for Tour de Chooch (assuming that you are still doing that).
It is a work of art.  I've seen it before George removed some of the clutter details on the layout. I agree that at that time it looked more like a Norman Rockwell painting than a realistic layout.   But it was still a thing of beauty!

It all depends on where I am going. The way Keith has it set up with MA and NH mixed on the same days this year it really screws up how I can go about seeing the ones I want.
