A major part of my operating scheme is 3700 Class UP Challengers on the back of every non-Big Boy powered freight on my Weber/Echo Canyon helper district...just like the prototype in the fifties. I hadn't thought of removing the traction tires on the helpers, but my little brain thinks that sounds like a great idea!
Like Otto, my trackage isn't done enough to give that a try yet (the middle of next year...yup), but I will remember this tip when the time comes...
