I'm waiting for KATO to learn how to make or purchase better couplers for all of their locos and rolling stock. What they make now are terrible, IMHO.

Since no one else is selling modern domestic intermodal loads, I'll ask for 53' containers in JB Hunt and Scheider, please.  Nothing glamorous, but they could probably sell a bucket-load of them, along with their Maxi-IV's.

I am waiting on Kato to do an SP AC4400, a Warbonnet SD75, an MRL SD40, an Amtrak PhIV F40PH, a BNSF "Mississippi River" business car, and a BNSF-patched, faded Maersk Maxi-I.

I'll probably buy 844 when she hits the shelves, too.   8)

Ditto...I could go for the SP AC4400, a Warbonnet SD75 and MRL SD40.

What changes are needed for an SP version of the AC4400?

Milwaukee Road boxcab electrics.  They already build electrics in almost every wheel arrangement imaginable, so why not?  The passenger and freight equipment is available, and they're as well known, if not as widely modeled, as the GG-1s.  I'd even take them with dummy pantographs, since I have extra Overland pans in storage.

Ignoring the more minor differences - I think they could do it now - since it needs the high number board cab and the body with the two dynamic brake vents.....  ???

My 1st post here (NYC 20th Century Ltd.) was strictly a fun fantasy post.

But after seeing other posts which could easily be fulfilled by Kato, I agree 100% with the requests for more Amtrak Ph. III painted models (Amfleets and other cars).  Kato Amfleet Is would also be very welcome.  I would also love for Kato to redo their Amfleet truck wheel faces.  That is a very small change. I have never seen wheels on Amfleet cars that look like the Kato version (Kato's wheel profile looks totally wrong, and there are holes in wheel faces! WTF!).  To me that is a big negative on the Kato's model.

The other one would be to rework the they F40PH fuel tank area to fairly easily depict different phases of that loco. They have already made some shell modifications, why not also change the single molding between the trucks?

I also have to chime in on Kato couplers. They actually look fairly decent (in plan view, closest to the real couplers) but operationally they SUCK!  I would love for Micro Trains to produce a drop-in MT coupler retrofit for the Katos, but that ain't going to happen (I lobbied for it but got nowhere).  I guess that the Kato-coupler-haters are in a minority.

Sometimes these topics are fun.

I am waiting for Kato to get rid of their ridiculous handrail walkway unit thingy. It would simplify their mold a lot more and it would look a LOT better. Separate handrails!

Peteski,

Add me to your list.  I was backing up my Amtrak train the other night, and when I started moving forward, the train broke in three places.  It's only a six-car train, including two Walthers sleeper cars that did not uncouple.   :x

I wouldn't mind if Kato reran their 4-car Southern passenger car sets (3 different sets?) within the next year.

Hmm... I'd buy 80 or 90
of 'em...

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
