Very good shot showing the dual sealed beam headlights in an EM-1. The model has a silver mask printed over the lense of the light with two smaller clear circles to represent this. I really don't know any other way they could in such a tight place. I am working on a P7-D that also had dual sealed beam headlight and I was thinking of two pieces of fiberoptic glued into the the normal lens housing to recreate it. There really isn't room for that in the EM-1.

The decal film showing on the tender gave me a chuckle.  ;)

 :?Another EM-1 question:

does anybody know the supported CV's on the new decoder that Bachmann is using in the EM-1.
It appears that CV 5 (-max voltage i.e top speed-) can now be programmed which was not available on the older decoders.
Bachmann still shows the old decoder in their on-line literature.

Charley ,

the light is dimmable for "rule 17" by pressing F1. Are you suggesting it is too bright in the dimmed mode?

I have run my two EM-1s only with NCE DCC, but have yet to do any programming other than change the addresses from "3" to the 7614 and 7627.
In that regards, I am not certain what difference setting speed steps from 28 to 128 makes in how they run.

I used Decoder Pro to change the address in my EM-1. I don't remember that there are many cv's that are programmable in this decoder.

My #7627 came today. Yes, the dual headlight mask is there as Skipgear said and Marks photo shows. It doesn't do much for the impression of a dual headlight when it's on, the brightness over powers it. Looks a bit odd when the light is off, I think of the Lone Ranger. Maybe you DCC people can figure out how to dim it a little so it won't overpower the mask. I think it would look "cool" if you could see two spots in the housing.

Charley.

You would have to add a resistor in series with the LED to decrease its brightness. But when you looked straight at the real dual-beam headlight, I doubt that you would see that there were 2 separate light sources.
