G22 build- Need help identifying parts

After you put the rectangled top on the sides you would put those rivet strips (4&5) on top of that.

#1 are the pivot arms for the brake hardware under the floor, in the event that you want to model a highly-detailed underbody.

#3 might pertain to the Z scale couper box.  Since I mounted N scale 1015s, I didn't use them.  They also may be for mounting the brake appliances.  I don't remember what #2 is.

I'm fairly certain that the instructions explained all of those parts at some point.  I don't recall seeing any "unaccounted for" parts that I didn't know what purpose they had.

Thanks for the input, gents. The reason I am posting is because the directions make no mention of parts 1, 2, and 3. Parts 4 and 5 confused me. I whipped out my the PRRT&HS Flat Car book (page 60) and the top rim of a G22 photo appears mostly flat. There are rivets, but on the center third of the rim. Judging from prototype photos, it actually looks like those rivet strips should go along the top inner rim of the gon.

I just looked at mine, it has no rivets on top. They might go inside around the top edge. I must not have used them  :|

  • Brake actuator arms, 1 goes to the actuator itself, second is mounted on the sill for equalization
  • Mounting bracket for the Brake Actuator, Reservoir and Control Valve
  • Coupler Shims
  • Interior Top Edge Rivets for Sides
  • Interior Top Edge Rivets for Ends

Do you folks have a picture of the break rigging? I can't tell how to mount them from the pic in the directions. I also couldn't find any pics anywhere else.

I didn't model the brake rigging.  I only modeled the brake appliances.  I build models for operating, so most of the time I don't worry about the details that can't be seen when the car is upright.

We're in the same boat. I can't really tell how those three parts are mounted under there. I don't know how the mounting bracket for the Brake Actuator, Reservoir and Control Valve fit together.
I'm not familiar enough with rigging to just wing it.
