You. Wouldn't. Dare... I have absolutely no place for it, it's ginormously long, and I would buy one in a heartbeat.

However, I might be able to oblige.  Perhaps MC and I can schedule that  :ashat: "date night".

This week, I mostly cleaned off the workbench:

Then I welcomed a few new additions (one of which will eventually become a GBW orphan)

And noodled a few more connections to the Elkins yard:

And Eric, what you and MC do on date night is really, really TMI :ashat:

The Train Ride is at Lakemont, The bridge the train is about to go over, crosses Brush Run behind the first base line at Blair County Ballpark. My Daughter works at Delgrosso's, their train is much more Toy like than what they used to run. The original, "Little Toot" is now on display.

Damn, the front of the engine looks a lot what is a Delgrosso's (and what I made my assumption off of):

Its pretty bad that I can't remember things that I live 45 minutes from and have childhood memories (supposedly).  :D

Just go ahead and double dare me ! I promised Jerry DeBene that I would work on it little by little. I already got the Deck Girder which is the correct length and height.

Already did the original steam era railing (NOT the updated modern railing)

Now all I need now are the trestle bents.

I feel a sudden pain in the pit of my wallet...

That would be a somewhat cartoonishly painted model of Central Pacific #3, the CP Huntinton.

Wicked looking.

Would love to see some bent options other than ME for N scale big bridges.

PJM 20,
According to my Daughter the engines at both Parks are Identical. Lakemont's is just "PIMPED OUT" a little more. Being of a different generation my memories are of the coal fired steam engine from the 60s and 70s. The aroma of coal smoke still brings back memories of rides with my Grandfather.

^ My guess is that they were built by the same company.  Most everything at theme parks, and local fairs is built by a handful of manufacturers, even back in the 60's.  That loco is found in multiple little amusement parks all over the country.

Good stuff this weekend.

Currently up in beautiful Fort Nelson, BC after an amazing road trip up from Kamloops.   Many highlights, but for me the main one was getting lots of photos of Beatton River bridge on the Fort Nelson subdivision (my current modelling obsession).    Since the bridge is officially in the middle of nowhere it helps that I had a good friend with a big truck who could get us in on oilfield roads to an access point.  He was also crazy enough to sign up for the 3.5 mile hike along the tracks to get to the bridge from our access point.   Then of course we had to hike the 3.5 miles back to the truck.   Feet still sore but it was worth it.

Pics this coming weekend.. when I should be back in Calgary.

They are built by Chance Manufacturing of Witchita, KS.  The St. Louis Zoo has had a fleet of them in various colors since before I started attending with the kids in the late 70's.  I now enjoy riding with my 3 year old granddaughter.

Here's a link to Chance's website.  I'd love to know what one costs :D
