Now it is time to compare teh model to the prototype and see how well Bachmann did with that.
It won't (doesn't) compare well to the prototype. But there's no reason it should.Find an old HO Atlas S2 or even the Arnold N scale one. It will compare closer to those.Jason
The S.Can you tell me if those handrails and stanchions are a seperate part?
Jason: Please stop.
Is that hateful bias or reality?
Stop what? Answering questions? You got it, right after this.First of all I've never had a bias against any company. Only inferior products which this is.I can point to a dozen things just in the photos alone much less having a drawing in hand. When the Atlas model comes out, you'll see the differences - or not, who cares.Jason - out.
Jason, have you actually seen the model up close and personal? I have ,it was at NTS last August in Grand Rapids and it looks pretty damn good.
I would be interested in how well the chassis fit inside a Kato NW2.
I guess I'll do something radical and decide whether it is an inferior model afterI actually see it and run it....figured it's worth $70 bucks with DCC; ordered one tonight, need a workhorse switcher for one of my staging yards and the ATSF zebra looks GOOD.... It it doesn't I'll turn the lights way down... Still, thankful to Bachmann for bringing out product....more than can be said of a number of other manufacturers.Otto K.,
I went and picked it up. It runs really really well OOB. I'd consider this a HUGE hit over the GE44T. Operationally it runs better than the 44T. The hood and cab lights are both on in either direction but they dim in the direction opposite of travel on DCC. It appears this has flywheels that operate surprisingly well. The detail and painting is amazing. The only flaw that I can find is the window fitment on the cab sides, its not as clean as Kato. The S.
