David:  I LIKE that riverbed.  Nothing beats real rock for something like that, and you've matched the color in the banks perfectly.  Is that modeled after a real place?

Mike:  Yeah, I assumed it was colorized, as some of the color choices seemed a little odd, such as the "leprechauns".  I doubt that chemicals other than creosote were used that far back.

Between work and remodeling our master bath, haven't had much time to work on the layout.  Did however start installing some Blue Shale I received from SMike.  I'm looking for feedback on whether or not I have added enough or too much so far.  Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  This isn't a finished product, just work in progress.  As always, thanks for looking!

Check out the new MR Sept issue, my gang at The Lehigh & Keystone Valley
club are featured. Farm scene with a dirt grade crossing near switch tower
is one I contributed to.. (I did the Pikestuff Crossbucks). Finally made it to
MR. A great club and layout.



I did a coal mine slag scene in Hazelton as well.

Using photos of 1:1 scenes in the modeling thread is not fair.

The shale rock creekbed is as close to perfect as I think possible.

to monitor particulates.

This is looking really great. As you go forward, you might consider adding debris/branches, etc.. on the inside bend of the river, where the water flows slower. I went back and looked at some of your older posts, and found the lower photo. I hope you don't mind me reposting it, but it is very inspirational to see how far you have come with this project. You have created a great scene in a very modest space and have really taken advantage of the possibilities in N scale.
