I'm speculating that those units are headed to LTEX, judging by the patch on most units.  I didn't know there was so much Santa Fe warbonnets left.  Good to see, since that will become harder and harder to find as time goes by.

But, what's going on with the last two locomotives?  Are they pushing (don't seem to be) or there for a reverse movement at some point down the line?

Looks like your typical lineup of Kato products.

Nah, would have had some UP units in there, too.

[sniff]

Round 'em up, move 'em out. Those were locomotives of my railfanning youth.

You can thank the SCAQMD for this. This was a cleanup getting the last of BNSF's noncompliant fleet out of Southern California, probably in storage for such a move.

Second major nostalgia hit in two days. Last night an NS train came through with a high-hood GP38-2 on the point. They were stopped waiting for the junction signal, and I asked the engineer, "Who did you p*** off to get this antique?" He laughed, pointed back to the lone toaster behind it and said that it needed major service and if it wasn't for stealing the Geep from the local, they'd never have gotten their train out of town.

Seems fitting that three LAJ CF7s were coupled up to some of the power that replaced them from local service decades ago.

There was a similar video posted on Facebook a couple days ago but with old Chessie units.  Can't find the darn thing now but had lots of B&O, C&O, Chessie, GP and SD9s and other older units.
