New detail items coming this week from NZT

Two new NZT detail items are about to hit the street.

For those modelers wishing to superdetail their school bus or mail truck, the ND-024 kit provides enough parts for four of either vehicle, or any combination totaling four. The kit includes side rearview mirrors, auxiliary mirrors, swing arm and stop sign (decals included). Swing arm and stop sign can be mounted in extended or retracted position. The parts are laser-cut from black laser paper, which is surprisingly strong and requires only a few dabs with a silver Sharpie to bring them to life. It also keeps the cost down, since it's much more economical than etched stainless steel. MSRP is only $4.00.

Then we have ND-025, tie plates and joiner bars, new and used.

The set includes five different super-detailed castings: a small pile of used tie plates, a small pile of used joiner bars, a larger pile of a mix of tie plates and joiner bars, a pair of pallets with new tie plates, and a pair of pallets with new joiner bars. All of these items are made precisely to scale and have accurate surface contours and holes.

Used parts are cast in a rust color, and new parts in light grey, to make finishing easier. An India ink wash is about all that's needed to bring out the remarkable detail. Place the new parts near a track work gang or in the yard; piles of used parts are most often found around yards, but they can go almost anywhere.

MSRP is $8.00. These will be announced to dealers shortly and should ship to them by the end of the week.

All. Of. These. I have a need for.

Anyway of casting the new tie plates and joint bars separate from the pallet? I'd really like to put these on Paw of a Bear laser cut wood pallets. I guess I can just sand off the pallet part.

Yet another purchase.  Those tie plate piles are simply awesome and much needed.

Can't say I'm crazy about the mirror details, but that probably has more to do with *unpainted* and *HO-size photos*.   I'm sure they will look awesome, especially for the price.   They're just kinda drawing weird attention to themselves at the moment.

The pallets make it more practical to cast these parts. So, you'll have to sand them down I'm afraid.

I think this is cool.  I like the pallet, by the way.

Very nice, and I can see a bunch of those on my layout.
Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor!

Hi David:

I can definitely use the bus mirrors and the trackside materials.  I would like to suggest a gondola load for the tie plates/joiner bars as this was a fairly common operation on most railroads - lifting old rail materials and chucking htem into a gondola for scrap.

Thank you for another interesting and useful release - I wish you well with it.

Sorry to poop on the parade as I was anxiously awaiting those mirrors.  But photoetched from brass, not paper (even black laser paper)!!  I seem to recall that you originally announced that those wold be photoetched.  Sorry.  I will buy a set, just to check them out, but it looks like I'll have to roll my own photoetched brass.  :(

The tie plates/joiner bars look awesome!

Hey, poop away, pal. Yes, I'd originally planned to photo-etch them, but I wasn't thrilled by the price. Sorry to disappoint, but like they say, you can't please everybody.
