Kato smoothside passenger car details.

I have two passenger sets, and neither have instructions on to where the detail parts go. I have figured out where every thing goes but one piece. It is long flat piece with squares on each end. Any ideas?  Thanks

What 2 sets are they?  Are they in this tree?

I don't know witch car it goes to. The details are for a four car set and a 6 car set.

Since some of the cars in the COLA are also from the 6-4 car sets I would use the photos from this link as a guide:

The cars I have are from an older run and are not the same one that are in the link.

I pulled out an old set of undec's I have. I believe it is what Kato calls a "plastic tweezer", you cut it off the sprue and fold it in the middle. It is shown on the tree posted above. Bob.
