IIRC, both have the same truck centers.

Body kits are available for an F59PH from Kaslo in Canada (Canadian and US versions), which show up on eBay and usually stocked in some of the bigger Canadian hobby shops for about $75. The kits were designed for the original Athearn F59PHI, and I'm unsure how well they would work with the new sound versions. The Kaslo kit has some of the coolest details anywhere - and there's loads of it! I have their Metrolink version, but haven't yet started. Very nice stuff.

Cheers!

Thank you Marc, good to know about the Kaslo kit, that is the reason why I am asking. Kaslo recommends in their HO kit a GP38-2 drive but I have also information that a GP60 drive would be the right one. That's why I like to know the truck space so that I can use the right drive. I have already a lot of IIRC information but nothing black on white yet.

I'm looking for data for you to nail down on the PH. FWIW, the center to center spacing for the units mentioned:

F59PHI - 44' - 7"
GP38-2 - 43'
GP60 - 35' - 1"

Have you checked the Diesel Spotter Guide for the PH version? If you have a copy (or access to one), also check the others I listed - I got the info off the 'net.

Cheers!

F59PHI - 44' - 7"
GP38-2 - 43'
GP60 - 35' - 1"

Thank you Marc, the F59PHI with 44' 7" is way off, a SD40-2 only has 43' 6", the GP38-2 with 43' seems to be a typo as it is 34' and the GP60 is spot on. No I do not have a Diesel Spotter's Guide that's why I did ask here. Now, what is the truck space for a F59PH ? Anyone ?

I finally got the right information. Just in case anyone cares, the GP60 drive is the right choice, not the GP38-2. Choice.
