Yes they are. Seeing them posted in a single post woudl be amusing, but seeing them on the bottom of each of their posts is a bit much. My eyeballs are throbbing!

.  Right now I am getting pellets from New England Wood Pellet at $195 a ton bagged, or if I bring my own truck to the mill I can get it cheaper loose.

DAMN. Where are you getting these for that price? NEWP makes a low ash pellet. I have used them and the dust is minimal. NEWP also use to be a customer in Palmer on our line for 2 years while the main plant up North was rebuilt following a fire.

I'll second that! Very distracting.

Hmm... it's like being in

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

I was at my new PT Home Depot gig last night! No phone!

Middleton Building Supply. Ya have to buy them in bulk. Buddy of mine bought 15 ton (silo fed year round pellet boiler) and I tacked on a few.

Brian, how did their Palmer operation work?  I was thinking of adding a facility.

It was a simple operation Ian. Their track came off another customers track. (bulk dry cement). We cold spot only 3 cars at at time. Pipes laying around (rubber) would be used to pump air into the car and pellets into the building. It was a modified building that they used, nothing made new for pellets. They would be bagged inside and then stored outside.

Thanks Brian.

Where would the cars be coming from?

Edit: I found an article from 07/2006 saying they imported the pellets from Houston Pellet Co. in BC. What types of hoppers did these generally come in?

Wow, that is a long ways to go for wood pellets.  Houston is in NW British Columbia...

That is correct, they came down to us from the CN. They were usually shipped in CN cylindrical hoppers. CNLX was a popular reporting mark. The always wanted the non lease cars (ones not ending in X) because they were paying car hire on those.

Good to know, thanks Brian. I'm sure it can be an easy industry to model. I'm thinking that I can use my blue prefab building for it. I'll have the inside track for loading bagged product, and maybe have the unloading track outside. Or maybe both on the same track in the building.

This side gig at HD is working out well...makes it really easy to pick up layout supplies, and hard not to rack up the layout's credit card as well! Picked up 8 sheets of 12' drywall, 4 sheets of 8' and some studs the other day and got a chance to bang them out today.
Work started on the east end of the layout building the box around the soil pipe that runs along the outside wall. The boxing is 11" deep and 14" high. Unlike the west end which had to have the HVAC duct boxed at 8"dx8"h, the east end's is going to take some experimenting with the lighting since the upper fascia comes down 17". The upper fascia should be about 20-24" from the wall so I'm hoping the lighting will work how I want. If not I may have to look at going with T12 bulbs instead of the 800lm warm white LED bulbs in cleat sockets I am planning.

I started putting up drywall on the far wall as well, which I had planned on doing last so I could easily get materials in and using only 2, 12' sheets to do. But its starting to get colder on the overnights and during the days so I wanted to close as much of it off as possible as I worked at finishing up the new hallway to the stairwell to keep pushing heat upstairs. I decided to use 3 8' sheets instead, placing the left and right corners up and then I'll leave the middle open for now until I can get all the materials in. This will allow me to throw up something smaller up to keep the heat loss down until I can start ripping ply to build benchwork.

I also finally tackled the electrical, taking down that misfit toy 2x4 that I had hanging holding the old wiring from the former walls. That 2x4 held the double gang box for the overhead lights while I was doing the roughing in. Today installed 8 lights for the aisle, and ran the wire drop for the layout lights on a separate circuit. I was able to tap in the outlets as well. Hopefully this week I can retap in the circuits for the other half of the basement.  When I start rocking the ceiling the 8 lights will be replaced with 8 cans.

Hang on there 2x4

... T12 bulbs...

:? - T8's, maybe? Can you actually get new T12 fixtures these days? 4-foot T8's are 32W, 4-foot T12's are 40W. Roughly the same lumens from either.

HD has the best prices I can find anywhere on LED troffers, so if you're doing a grid ceiling or even want to recess troffers into sheetrock, they might be worth looking at especially with your discount.

Yes, thats right, T8s. I have few T12s, but they are about 7 years old. I brought quite a few T8s a few years ago.

Im doing a drywalled ceiling and these are the cans I'm looking at. With the LED baffles they will be about $25 each.

Just bought four T12s yesterday at Menards, for my garage shop lights.
