I can't off the top of my head how else I would layout an office and family room in there. I'm open to suggestions and willing to do it if I like it enough.

It just makes more sense not to settle when you have nearly a blank canvas.  I know I would always think to myself what if?

Consider pathway to bring sheet goods and long boards down the stairs and into the workshop. The offset doorways may cause a problem.

If I'm not mistaken, there is an entrance from outside to the workshop.

Yes the workshop has an exterior door. It is a single door right now but will be replaced by a French door so that I can bring the motorcycle in.

I'm really liking how DKS has that new floorplan drawn out and have decided to go with that rendition. Plus it gives me an extra window in my office  8)

Finally found my R&R article on the BMS so I can use it for some inspiration on the Crown Vantage paper mill that I would like to have on the layout. I was thinking of using the Cascade Mill's track

Very interested in this. It would make a good extension for my layout

Anytime.

We closed on the house on Friday after a week delay of back and forth headache. We are currently moving in all of our stuff and I am.looking at starting on the layout room next month once we catch up on everything.

The power woman has determined that the layout of the basement is be similar to it is now as she would like to turn part of the shop into an office for herself. The layout will still be significant in size and I should have final sizes and drawings shortly.

Here is the final area as approved by the ol' lady. No obstructions. Door is not shown as it can be moved to any point on the lower wall.

Holy cow.  That is a blank canvas if I have ever seen one.  Even the door in is not fixed. :D

Put a pocket door down into the wall by the alcove - which becomes your work area & Dispatch table.  Build Haynes Point full scale in the rest.  Ed will exchange cars with you via Fed-Ex.  That is all.
