Evacuated downtown Calgary just in time before the flood hit and the bridges closed.   Hopefully my layout is still there when I get back :facepalm:

Hey Richie; stop pickin on CN's new and improved couplers ok...?  :trollface:

I actually found the bench this week for the first time in 3 months.... just messed around a bit...

This is a woodchip car that the CPR was asked to test and naturally they choose the Puddington valley Division, due to the large number of mills near by.... what they didn;t count on was the "nicely lubricated" guys in the paint shop getting hold of it.....



Don't know if the leasing company thought it was funny but I'm guessing the Division Super wasn't too pleased.... still; it wears those funky PVR colours all these years later....( ;))

I'm starting to get ready for the Annual CARM Convention (Canadian Association of Railroaders Modelers) being held just down the road in Port Hope, Ontario in August. I'll be exhibiting the CPR Dominion consist and "Little Puddy", the car we sent around the world. I've desided to display the Dominion on a station module I am building, but in two sections; and east bound and a west bound. For that, I've decided to add a "foreign road" sleeper to each consist as the Dominion often hosted other sleepers for either tours or leased needs.... So; I have been working on this....



Now, clearly Lake Crystal (in the picture behind Lake Livingston) has been modified by the elimination of one vestibule but she's similar to this MTL 10-1-2... The picture isn't showing the light weathering very well; nor the blinds, which have a silver bottom edge that really stands out in person.... All that tuscan needs a little colour and after all, who doesn't love Uncle Pete ( me, me , me.... :facepalm:)

Oh man; I am feeling for you..... stay high and dry and hope for the best.... having lost a layout to a flood I'm keeping good thoughts in my head and heart for you tonight !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead of installing the entrance to the passenger terminal throat as I had planned, I burned all of my time playing with rolling stock.  I bought, received, and decoderized the M1, and spent quite a bit of time cleaning, lubing, and breaking her in.  She's not quite the Swiss watch that the T1 is, but there's definite potential.  She can pull about 36 cars (begrudgingly, 30 seems to be the comfortable limit) with the TT axel installed.  Pickup is a little spotty, and that tender is super unforgiving of less than perfect trackwork.  Definitely some tweaking to be done.

Also pictured there are my other two projects for the week.  I installed a decoder in my NJI MPB54 and took it for a spin with the Bachmann shortie MP54 conversions that I bought from Hiroe.  Commuter service has come to the Pennsy!  Finally, I took the time to install MicroTrains couplers on my decoderized Tomix track cleaner.  It, along with the pair of Aztec cars that I took delivery of, completed several laps of the layout.  The Tomix car vacuumed up quite a bit of detritus.  The Aztec cars, equipped with the canvas pads and running dry, were less than stellar performers.  More work to be done on the track cleaning train...

Unbelievable what I am seeing on the news tonight especially after being in Calgary just a month or two ago to visit Andy and take in Supertrain.  All the best, Andy.

No modelling for me in recent weeks due to a trip to the hospital for an operation and subsequent convalescence.  I did get out to op sessions at Steve Stark's and Mark Dance's this week which was a pleasant diversion.
