+1 - Adds another possible swap out part to the palette, to build prototypical rolling stock variety with.

The part has been available for many years through Des Plaines Hobbies.  I picked some up several months ago for a RI express box car.

Although I'm not completely happy with it (off hand, I can't think of any car I'm "completely happy" with ), it's my era and I certainly do appreciate the stand-off details, although the running board really needs some work...them thar fugly lugs have got to go...and the running board gets lowered...and the car gets lowered. 

Other than that...they'll be welcome on my 1951 thru 1956 UP as my photos of the Ogden Yard in 1952 show several of 'em in various trains.

The DPM Viking roof has always had high roofwalk brackets.  I'm assuming it's prototypical, but it's easy to either file them down or use a thinner roofwalk.

Is the roof new tooling?  I've never seen viking roofs on an IM car before.

The Viking roof has been used on occasion.

All the InterMountain AAR 40' variants ride a little high.  They are lowered easily by filing the bolsters or swapping in either BLMA A-3 or Atlas S-2 trucks.

I've been looking forward to acquiring a couple of these ever since they were announced.  Variety in the equipment fleet is a wonderful thing.

Their HO version does not have the high brackets. The HO car will also be available with both a rectangular panel roof and a Viking roof, wood or metal running boards, and several(?) door types, depending on prototype. Wonder whether we are getting just one car version or more. That would be nice. At least one dealer has them listed in multiple versions but  notes "HO model shown"...

Can't tell by the photo but are these as originally built with wooden siding or as rebuilt with metal sides?  Either way, I'll pick up a couple just for the variety.

Is this the Des Plaines Hobbies that rarely posts the name of a manufacturers and seems to have zero photos of products on its website?  I don't buy sight unseen or with incomplete information.  The primary draws a website offers is visual and information so, if you have a website designed to sell to online customers but don't show them what you're selling or at least tell them who makes it, then you're making a half-assed effort to reach that market segment.  Which is an indicator of poor service to e-customers (which I have already experienced from DPH).    I know, it's probably a great B&M shop with no time to run their website...

"Looks like a nice car, but I am a bit disappointed that we have another with 6 diagonals per side (along with Atlas and MTL). I really wish we could get a 4 diagonals per side car.  I realize that the IMRC car may have different ends and roof, but I guess I am surprised that nobody has done a modern tooled version of the very common "4 diagonal car". Oh well."

Most, if not all, parts and kits from DPH are made by Centralia Car Shop.

Funny, most of the stuff I saw, last time I got totally frustrated by DPH's website, was by GMM and Details Associates.  My point was that DPH's internet POS is sad.  If I have to Google to find out who manufactures a product and then go searching for a manufacturer's site to get a photo, I'm likely to buy direct rather than go back to the vendor who just sent me on a wild goose chase.  Retailers are supposed to make it easy to buy and every time a customer leaves DPH's website to go fishing is a chance for them not to come back.

You're mostly right.  I was working there when Ron decided to open the online shop.  It needs a full time employee, and step one should have been photos, especially of the proprietary products. 

But, it's not the core focus of DPH.  And it's also not going to cause the downfall of the shop.

DPH has survived despite many, many other shops in Chicagoland disappearing.  This is similar to the discount argument.  People think sales must be in the tanks because DPH doesn't discount.  This isn't the case.  And shops really do need that 40% to cover overhead and remain viable.  Most shops that discounted have run into trouble and closed down in this area. 

Treat DPH as the place to go when you're looking for a specific item that is hard to find elsewhere and they happen to have it in stock still.  Don't treat it as an N Scale Supply or Feather River Trains where you can do some visual browsing of new items and look for deeper discounts.  DPH isn't meant to be that, and once you understand, I think you'll find the website much less frustrating. 

And if you really don't like the website and are looking for a specific item, call them up instead.  Talk to Harley.

Buy the DPH accessory parts for the InterMountain AAR 40' cars.  All the parts are worth having on hand for various kitbashing projects.

Most likely multiple variations.  All of the variants you've mentioned already exist in InterMountain's N scale inventory of parts, and they have featured different component variations in the past on the other AAR 40' boxcar products.
