Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Just testing.  Seeing if I can link to a photo I've uploaded to Flickr...Let's see how many tries this takes me...

Okay...interesting!  When I post this with a "full size" link and I enlarge it all that's allowed, I can see some definite HF artifacts that I never noticed before.  If I'm gonna post full-sized then I'm definitely going to have to pay close attention!!  I really like this versatility  :)

Yep, even if you 'disable' the downloads, the URL can be gotten to.

Okay Jason,

YOU did it, so what did you do?  I can't get it to show up on my post  Okay....after a dozen tries, I finally got it.  Not as easy as Picasa, but not nearly so intrusive either.

You haven't done anything here that you couldn't do in Picasa.

Jason

Hmmmm...Picasa gives me a choice of image sizes that my link to my photo will have, with 800 px (I'm assuming that's 800 px on the longest side) being the largest choice, whereas the largest choice given me in Flickr is "life size"....which on a file size of up to 20Gb is considerably larger than 800 px on the longest side.

Maybe there's a way in Picasa to link to full-sized views, but I haven't found it, and I've been generally happy with Picasa...other than having to pay around $250 bucks annually for the same storage space that Flickr offers for FREE (1Tb).  I chose the pro account...which gives me a max file size of 20Gb and unlimited storage on Flickr for an annual fee of $25.

I'll still use both photo sharing sites, but my friend Nate had Picasa go wonky on him after he converted to a gmail account so that he cannot access his photos, although he can view his own photos, it just won't recognize either his old or new password.  Google customer service has been totally silent as to a solution to the problem...so, for Nate, we're going with Flickr, which doesn't attempt to integrate everything under one umbrella (email, photo editing, web search, on-computer photo viewing/organizing, web photo storage and on and on).

Edit the image link and change sXXX to s0 (where XXX depends on the image size selected in the dropdown).

Before: lh5.googleusercontent.com/-zk9I8zAKSZQ/UHHoBvChW4I/AAAAAAAAPq0/ZqHb0r-wFno/s800/NP9C0916.JPG

After: lh5.googleusercontent.com/-zk9I8zAKSZQ/UHHoBvChW4I/AAAAAAAAPq0/ZqHb0r-wFno/s0/NP9C0916.JPG

Result:

From what I've read, this little trick is undocumented to keep Google's bandwidth from exploding.
