What microtrains couplers have you guys been putting on the new atlas4-4-0? This is a buddies engine I'm doing so I don't wanna chop it up to much. Thanks

If you run the threads all the way through and remove the original coupler pocket a KD Z scale coupler mounts in the original hole.

Replacing the N scale coupler with another N scale coupler on the 4-4-0 is indeed a sin.  Your buddy will thus love you so much more if you use a Z scale coupler.  ;)

Anything but an "N scale" coupler on those lovely little locos.

If you intend to run the Civil War cars from MT, you can use the "coupler" included with the cars. Just pop out the Accumate and put the lid back on. Couples nice and close.

The KD Z couplers fit with the pin supplied on the Civil war cars.
