Sounds like a great set of articles.  I recently bought the Morning Sun CP Western Lines book and have a new found appreciation for that road, one fired originally by Mark's (and Tim's) modeling.

And Scott, your RI article didn't slip by me.  I had to do a double-take since it wasn't E-L-related.

Siren, the RI passenger train article is the work of Alvin Ho.  Young kid doing incredible work.  Can't wait to see what he does next.

I knew as soon as Scott got on the masthead that the N scale content would increase... awesome!

And Mark's layout is, well, killer no matter how you photograph and describe it. I'm glad it's getting the exposure it deserves!

I'll have to see if Barnes and Noble has a copy locally. No LHS to check.

Missed the MRP article on Mark's masterpiece. Glad I get a chance to take a look in print. His web videos and photos are awesome.

Mark, Congratulations on getting your layout featured and on making the cover!   Wow!

Scott, and all, let me chime my $.02 in here about RMC and N Scale.

I am very glad that you want to promote the presence of N Scale in that magazine.   I think a big part of
the  problem is simply
that authors don't think of them as an N Scale magazine, and don't send them a lot of material
to print.   I never felt any reluctance or bias against getting my work published in there.

So folks, pony up.  If you want more N in RMC, send it to them.

(Now, let's not divert this thread too  much from Mark's success and wonderful effort.   ;)

Mark's layout is the cat's a$$.  OK, now having said that...

I have been going through the article submissions at RMC and there are absolutely zero N-Scale submissions.  That is not an exaggeration either.  It is all HO with some narrow gauge stuff thrown into the mix.  I feed them N-Scale articles as does Alvin but we always need more.  Please send your N-scale articles in and I will take it from there!

Again, Marks layout is incredible.

Well, if N can make it to the cover about 3 times a year, that would be proportional.
I get confused with RMC because Ann Arbor seems to appear so often, both N and HO, which is why I get almost every copy.
The funny thing is, the local drugstore is where I have to pick it up at.
No more LHS. :(

Ditto what Scott said about N scale submissions.  Former RMC editor Bill Schaumburg ran 7-8 N scale articles that I sent in and said RMC was always looking for N scale material.  Glad that we've also got Scott on the inside now to help see this through.

I have three in the hopper right now at RMC but they are multi-scale articles.  One N scale article is in progress that I hope to finish in the next few months.

Also, Kudos to Mark and Tim.  I'm hoping my copy will arrive in today's mail.

Keep those subscription purchases coming!
Best regards,

Roger

Any article submissions can be sent to me care of RMC.  That way I can make sure they get where they need to go.

Another thing I like about RMC is the building plans.
Though I was a little  bewildered that the CP section house a couple months ago was N scale, but when the printed the missing view, it was HO. :?

Latest copy not here in Michigan yet.

Wow! I was just browsing through my copy "Stand Fast, Craigellachie" this morning, and looking at photos of C-liners and Trainmasters and the Slocan wayfreight. Now I know I need to get at least the next 2 months of RMC to see these great articles, and I'll have to make the trip to see the C&W sometime soon, as well.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

Another thing I like about RMC is the building plans.

+1,000,000 - No matter what scale the article's about, drawings are huge, IMO, for structures, locos, and rolling stock. Having drawings continues to set magazines apart for me.  MR has all but abandoned them and they're few and far between in most others - except RMC, which continues to provide a gold standard in that department.  And every once in a while NSR throws a bone out, like with the Milwaukee Road SDL39.  We need more bones!  One reason for this is it allows modelers to, well, model that which does not exist as model yet.  But I've noticed manufacturers tend to release models for which drawings have been featured in mags eventually. Affect or effect, who knows, but it seems to be a good thing.
